Very authentic Burmese food. Mon hin Khar was cooked from scratch and it’s a must try. Coconut noodles was one of the best we have had locally. Will come back to try tealeaf salad and biryani next.

We had a delicious Burmese lunch of spicy beef curry over the most delicious coconut rice. Three flavors were amazing and we cleaned every inch of our plates. The proprietors were very welcoming and friendly and happy to tell us about the food and more. Please give this gem some love.

Jasmine is such an amazing person and an ebullient business owner. She greets every guest with a huge smile and radiates kindness and hospitality. Her food is absolutely delicious! We always get the tea leaf salad and the masala beef curry. The beef is tender and the proportions are very generous! She prepares every dish a la minute, so you are assured the freshest and most personalized (we always request extra spicy) experience. Thank you, Jasmine!

What a gem of a Burmese restaurant in the heart of San Francisco! I discovered this spot through Google Maps, and the glowing reviews were absolutely right. Came here for lunch on a Saturday and was blown away by the flavors. The Mo Hing Ga and Shrimp Curry with Coconut Rice were both delicious—rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. The husband-and-wife duo running the place were incredibly warm and welcoming, making the experience even more special. Thank you for a fantastic meal! I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in SF.

As someone married to a Burmese partner, I’ve had the privilege of enjoying countless traditional dishes over the years — but this place blew me away. The flavors were spot-on, deeply authentic, and elevated in a way that still honored the roots of Burmese cuisine. I had the coconut noodles, and they were out of this world — rich, creamy, perfectly spiced, and just incredibly satisfying. Easily the best I’ve had anywhere. What made the experience even more special was the owner — warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about sharing Burmese culture through food. It felt less like dining out and more like being a guest in someone’s home. Given the quality of the food and service, the pricing is more than fair, especially for San Francisco. If you love Burmese food (or are curious to try it), don’t walk — run to this place. You won’t regret it.

The Best AUTHENTIC and most delicious Myanmar (Burmese) Restaurant ever in California!!!!! I tried this Restaurant during my visit to San Francisco , from LA, and it's superb!! The taste of all items are so tasty and authentic that I felt as if I were back to Myanmar and as if I were having home-cooked food by my aunts or mother!! MUST TRY : 1. Fried noodles (trust me, you would wanna have it again and again!) 2. Nan Gyi salad ( real authentic Myanmar taste and home made salad taste ) 3. Chicken curry : First time ever in California that I have tasted a chicken dish with full of taste flown inside the whole meat!! Kudos to the chef Aunty Jasmine! Normally, in previous Restuarants in USA or Singapore, I couldn't eat much meat if I order a curry or dish , since the marinated sauce/taste didn't go into the meat and , the meat was too raw or blurred taste. Here, at Ar Har Ya Restaurant, it meets and exceeds my expectations ! Ar Har Ya dishes and selling menus PASSED my exam with High Distinctions!! Do give it a try, you'll keep coming back to Ar Har Ya again & again!

Great Burmese food in Fidi. Try the soups. This primarily takeout restaurant only has a couple tables and you'll be eating or sharing from takeout containers, but the food is what you're here for. The husband and wife are such kind people and they care about the food and customers. Note that the tea leaf salad is good, but some may think the tea leaf flavor may be a little on the light side. Watch out for the serrano peppers too.
